VILLA CARDS
1910-1914
Villa re-claimed their status as champions of English football in 1910, and continued to just miss out on repeat titles, finishing second in three out of four seasons between 1911 and 1914. The FA Cup was also brought home for a fifth time, taking Villa close to a second 'double', before World War I interrupted proceedings.

c1910: Cope Bros ('Clips' cigarettes) - Noted Footballers
Nine villa cards, numbered sequentially and listed on the backs. Background colour exists in two variants. This is Cope's second set of Noted Footballers, following the black-framed 'Solace' set of c1908. Note the inclusion of Archie Hunter - commemorating a Villa great from the Victorian era.

c1910: Murray, Sons & Co ('Maple' cigarettes and 'Murray' cigarettes) - Football Flags
Very rare, shaped flags in team colours, the dating of which is difficult. Catalogues list these as c1905 but Huddersfield Town adopted their blue and white colours in 1909, entering the Football League the following year - so the cards must be later than this.
