Played for Villa: 1911-1922
Position: Full back
Appearances: 178
One of four Villa players to appear in the winning FA Cup Final teams of both 1913 and 1920 (see also Hardy, Wallace, Stephenson), Tommy Weston was a stalwart defender who joined in 1911 and was usually present to defend the Villa goal in more than a decade of service. His crucial stop in the 1920 Cup Final prevented a certain Huddersfield opener, and may therefore have altered the outcome of the match. In the League, Weston played 153 times for Villa and runner-up spots came his way in 1913 and 1914. Weston saw out the 1914-18 period, playing in several war matches, but after appearing only sporadically in the 1921-22 season, moved on to Stoke where he played just four more games before retiring.
