Card Games
Several times, football-related games have appeared which include cards. These don't really fit with the rest of the cards on this site, but we feature them here anyway, for interest...
c1978-80: Top Trumps (British Soccer Stars / British Stars sets)
A set of Top Trumps was issued featuring British footballers, followed by a second set about a year later, and then a 'data change' set with updated cards reflecting increased player stats. At least three Villa players were included overall - Andy Gray, Brian Little and John Deehan. Gray's card is shown in two versions below, one of them from the data change set.
c1978: Soccer Stars
Similar to Top Trumps, this card deck was issued by sticker manufacturer, FKS. Andy Gray and a Villa team card were included:

c1979: Top Teams
Football-themed board game, with a deck of cards for each of several teams. The cards had artists' impressions of actual players, and several other cards with referees etc, to make a full pack of about 20 (not all of which are shown below)...

c1980: Top Trumps (Aston Villa set)
Around 1980, an Aston Villa edition of Top Trumps appeared. We only have low-res images, but the details are sufficient to establish that these were issued later than the British Stars set above, as the stats have been updated for Brian Little. (And Andy Gray is gone, too.)

86-87: Emlyn Hughes' Team Tactix
Board game loosely based on Monopoly, the idea being to move around the board buying players to build a football team. Each major club accordingly had a set of 11 (fairly small) cards in the game (shield your eyes from the yellow glare!), which used the same photos as a contemporary set of stickers issued by the Daily Mirror. Completists will note an additional, even smaller team name card.
